On Sunday, the New York Giants (2-7) and the New York Jets (1-7) will take the field for bragging rights in The Big Apple.

Going into the season this game had a lot more juice. However, with both teams underachieving, the matchup has been reduced to nothing more than a game of two bad teams going at it.

When the spread opened up on Monday, BetMGM had the Giants as 2.5-point road favorites for Sunday’s battle of the New York teams. The spread hasn’t changed as the week has gone along and remains at -2.5. The over/under is currently set at 42.5 headed into the weekend.

Given the performances so far by both teams this season, it’s certainly tough to predict how this one will go. The Giants will likely be without wide receiver Sterling Shepard, tight end Evan Engram, center Jon Halapio and right tackle Mike Remmers.

Fans of both teams are likely still rooting hard for their team in this one for bragging rights of the New York/New Jersey area. Although it is technically a Jet home game, the sides will likely be split evenly. Headed into this game, it seems like one of the more winnable games remaining on both of teams’ schedules.

The battle of New York comes around once every few years and you can bet both fan bases will be locked in for this one.
